We often think of our work in four pillars “Build. Grow. Cook. Heal”.

We have four main pillars that frame our work: Build. Grow. Cook. Heal. Each focus on an area that we feel is critical for food system shifts and fostering our pathways to collective freedom.

Fresher Together Farms is an incubator farm currently located in South Chicago with a new farm breaking ground in North Iroquois County. We like to think of our farm as the farm community built and offer consistent opportunities for community members to access being on the land and time with hands in the soil.

[Image Text] We grow culinary and medicinal herbs and mushrooms, small grain, beans, as well as what we call the “flava foods” consisting of alliums (onions, leeks, shallots, garlic), celery, carrots, peppers, etc.

We currently grow in two locations: Fresher Together South Chicago and Fresher Together Beaverville. If you are interested in helping on either farm, click here to visit our sign up page.

All Bodies. All Abilities. All Welcome.

We curate onsite farm experiences that not only support and build on our work towards growth for the community but often provide a nourishing experience that can’t be replicated outside of touching the soil and being in nature. We are committed to providing farm experiences for all folks and all bodies especially those who may need to do work sitting, or who might need frequent breaks. While farming can be very labor intensive, we want to support and celebrate those at all mobility levels.

Community members tending the land

Fresher Together would love for you to join us on the farm this season on Fridays and Sundays* to plant seedlings, weed, water, and build raised beds! Please review the available slots in the link to sign up. Mulch Love and Appreciation!
